Space station "Salute-7", which is in orbit in the unmanned mode, unexpectedly ceases to respond to signals from the flight control center. It was decided to send a rescue expedition into orbit. The space crew must find the "dead" station and for the first time in the world to dock with block of 20 tons of unmanaged iron.
Astronauts understand that a chance to return to the Earth is little. But this risky path is the only possible choice. They must not only penetrate the Salute-7, but also revive it. Could two people prevent an imminent catastrophe and save the planet from the fall of the station? Rescue expedition turns into a dangerous test. A real cosmic detective is deployed in orbit. The film is based on real events: a flight to the Salte-7 station in 1985 is considered the most difficult flight in the history of space exploration.
